TMI

Have you ever felt a little...something, maybe something wasn't quite right, you feel a little off. So you start to look up your symptoms on the internets.

C'mon...you know you do.

I've noticed that every major disease, affliction, complication or illness seems to involve "unexplained weight loss".

Clearly I'll live to 100.

open communication with my wardrobe

I had a conversation with my jeans this morning.
They are unhappy.
They are not comfortable.
My jeans expressed to me that they did not want to be simply set aside and forgotten about. We discussed our feelings openly and with no fear of judgment.
My jeans and I came to a place of peace...
That is of course after I agreed to do something about this situation that we find ourselves in.

I am heading downstairs now to have some lettuce. Maybe a carrot.

Here we go again

It's that time of year where we begin to change over the wardrobe.
My work attire has shifted from shorts to pants.
And we all know what that means ...right?

It means weese freaks out because half her pants don't fit.
(someone should probably send my patient wife a bottle of red)

I have tried to lose these very same pounds before.
These pounds love me, they are clinging to me tightly.
But I have resolve and no fear of trying again... and again.
(make that two bottles of red for my understanding wife).

And so I started a new diet yesterday.
It's rather regimented, which is good for weese, weese likes regiment.
Oddly this diet includes no beer.

I will let you know how it goes. Which basically means- if I start losing weight you can be sure I'll be blogging about it, and if I don't... well, that will be the end of that then, huh.

Look at this

They say this stuff has negative calories.

No really, if you read the back of the can it says this:

Three cans per day of eniviga have been shown to increase calorie burning by
60-100 calories....

So now that I can no longer go to the gym... I am thinking I drink 6 of these and I am good to go!

Circle the wagons

I keep falling off damn wagons.
Well, technically, I was never really on the wagon per se...

In my ongoing determination to lose weight, I had decided several weeks ago to cut back on my beer consumption. It's just so many calories, and... being a middle aged woman I just don't metabolize alcohol like back in the day.
(which is mostly just the universe telling me enough is enough old woman, you ain't 20 anymore)

I had a bit of a setback this weekend.
But its Monday... I am now planted firmly in my wagon seat, hands on the reigns, keeping a look out for angry natives, with a Perrier by my side.

And the dieting goes on...

In addition to going to the gym 4 times a week, I have been recording my intake online using FitDay.com.
This journaling type method works for me. It's not for everyone for sure. But for me, I feel it makes me more of an active participant in my own progress.
I can also look back at the day, or the week and know that I am on track. Instead of just 'thinking' that I am.

The other great thing about FitDay is that it allows you to enter your activities and shows the calories burned.
I like to put in my gym activities and I also include any heavy yard work that I may do. I figure that counts.
FitDay has all sorts of stored activities to choose from. For example under the Lawn and Garden selection I can choose from raking, chopping wood or digging in the garden. If I put in how much time I spent at a certain activity it will calculate total calories burned.

While browsing through these lists I noticed that I can also include Sexual Activity.
There are three levels of activity to choose from:
- Active, vigorous effort
- General, moderate effort
- Passive, light effort, kissing, hugging

Moderate effort? I am still trying to get my head around that one.
