fit bits and de tox

What have we become.

I actually heard myself say this morning...
"I have switched from wine to beer this week to see ...who really cares..."

But wait - let me see... hold on...checking.. yeah I have 2371 steps so far today.

So this is it. This is what we do now.
We deny ourselves foods that are perceived as bad. We cut out dairy, or wheat, or carbs, or chocolate or meat or eggs or heroin.
Then we track our steps. How many steps to the car, to the ladies room? If I drink alot of water I will pee more -- more steps!

I am looking forward to retirement. When I won't have to care. I can check out.
Tho its no longer acceptable to look forward to something - because then I am not being 'present'.

Maybe I'll just go back to drinking wine. I hear a Cabernet pairs nicely with Twinkies.

Oh, are you on walker tracker? We could be walking buddies!

I don't use my fitbit in that way. I wear it solely to use the calorie tracking on the website. Last week, I met up with a friend in galveston and we walked about 5 blocks on the Strand. It was an easy leisurly stroll and I earned an extra 300 calories from it...what a connection that my brain made! I put in my weight goal and that I want to do an agressive plan and it tells me how many calories I can have and it updates based on my activity and history. I love not having to think about it...

Retirement equals champagne. Fuck the calories!

Oh wow - I can so relate to this post! I just checked my Fitbit - damn spin class doesn't count how many times I peddled! And yes - trying to be better about not having cocktails Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It sounds like you are doing a great job staying fit and healthy. It ain't easy - and most of the time it isn't as much fun :)

Bing has something called a fitbit. She gives me updates on it frequently. I only pay a small bit of attention. I have to be careful what I eat because I'm a type 1 diabetic. It has saved me from being as big as a house because I dearly love Oreos.
