Sadly... no tax credit.
But the water savings alone will make for a very happy weese.

With all that white space maybe you should use it as a canvas.

Are you guys on well water or town water?

the landlord put one of those up/down sets in a friend's house. though she likes the convenience and all that, the lint filter is behind the dryer and is a pain to get at and frequently causes barked knuckles.

i hope your's is easier.

Nice looking unit. I've heard good things about the water savings. Good luck.

is that full-sized or the smaller type? We want to get one but have been wondering if they are worth it.

Excitement abounds!
Even without a tax credit. :)

its called a full size - tho its not as big as the regular washers.
keep in mind we are replacing a unit that looks the same except the old one was a top load washer...
and we raised two kids with that one.
our old one has the lint trap right inside the dryer door - i assumed this to be the same...hmm better be.

We are considering replacing our vintage model of the same style and are debating between the "laundry center" like we have now or the stackable full size models. I assume you (and others?)have gone through the same process...insights?

I was thinking that looked rather like the one it is replacing. Can't wait to see it in action. Maybe someone will spill a glass of wine!

Nice new machine! Sorry you couldn't fix the old one- I'm trying to trouble shoot mine- it's leaving rust colored spots on my clothes. Any ideas?

Go for the stacked, separate full size machines if you can.
For us ...it just didn't make sense right now. We would have needed to run another 220 (the all in one uses only a single outlet), and the machines themselves would have been a couple/few hundred more (tho the colors are FAB!)
This machine...for us - fits into our 5 year plan (which will include leaving it behind with the house... perhaps this is a whole 'nother post)

As for the rust.. this is not good. Not sure how you remove it from an existing machine (tho check this link [http://www.ehow.com/how_15252_clean-washing-machine.html].
Once you get the problem solved or a new machine be sure to leave the door OPEN or the lid UP.
mold and rust will develop in a closed moist environment.
