moving... an iterative process

We decided we wanted to move a couple years ago.

We've been here almost 23 years. That's a long time.

So I've decided to blog the 'story' of this place and the time we've been here.
I will do it in chapters - because I am lazy, and because no one really wants to read more than a paragraph or two at a time. We all have lives here.

Note this for starters...
We have not yet found a house - tho we know where we want to look.
We are actively in the process of getting ready to go on the market - thus the dumpster.
We are hoping to be ready by spring - but would like to sell mom's house first.

It is a big job, getting homes ready for the market. I had two of mom's to look after. she had moved from the 'family home' into a smaller place near where we live, and the older home took FOREVER to sell. shame she did not live to see that. and then we had to sell her smaller home. at least it is done now. best of luck to you on your search to find a new home. and offering lots of cyber strength as you get your mom's house (and your own) ready for the market. it is hard work (and hard on the heart). all the best, weese~

Just for the record:
I like more than a paragraph...

May the real estate gods look favorably upon you!

Wow, one place for 23 years. I can only imagine it because my parents have been in their house for over 35 years. We've moved so many times in the past ten years I've lost count. I kind of enjoy it though, packing and unpacking, going through everything.

Enjoy the process. Good luck with the buying and selling!!

I'm looking forward to the story of your current house and best of luck finding a house to start a new story.

For your stories I'll read 3 or 4 paragraphs. :)

So you guys are really cleaning out two houses, your mom's and yours? Wow, that's a lot of work. Are you going to do a tag sale in the spring? You know about curb alerts, too, right?

Well hello there sweetheart. I just happen to be home today, and decided I might dust off my unattended, poorly neglected blog.

I came upon your news, and of course you know my opinion on what real estate is a fabulous area for you both to relocate to...

Much luck looking, hope you are both well, and will miss you terribly at this year's event. Hope I haven't dissuaded you from coming because you think you might have to vacuum when you show up!

I have a vow this year to be less OCD about cleaning, and more focused on cooking, and ready when the party starts.

love and miss you both! -d
