and for our next project...

Really - what could be more fun!

Ok. The fact of the matter is this.
We are planning to move.
You know... put all our stuff into boxes, put the boxes into a truck, drive somewhere else, take the boxes out of the truck and put the stuff all back where it belongs.
The thought is daunting.
The dumpster will help.

Our motto is "Do you want to pack that?"
We plan on being ruthless.

ah i must have missed something....you are getting ready to move? being a pack rat myself, i find it very difficult to give up some things.i have moved 3 times in 8 yrs, and i have actually downsized each time. held a yard sale or two, and junked a lot of stuff. maybe i need to get one of those things hauled in my yard (next spring) and just do it!!
happy monday to you~

May I suggest a large tag sale before you fill the dumpster.

Have you found a place? Is yours on the market now, or is this in preparation for placing it on the market?

After our big move overseas I swore we would never move again.

If by some chance we ever do have to move again, I'd rather burn the place down and start fresh than go through the ordeal of packing and unpacking a gazzillion boxes.

we have a few rules. one is, if we "HAVE" to save something, we put it in a box, tag it with a date. If we open it, we re-tag with the new date. If after an agreed upon time, said box isn't opened, we evaluate if we REALLY need to keep it. Sentimental things get some passes. Irreplaceable things get a pass at times. But really, do you really need to keep the program from that community play you saw 17 years ago and now you can't remember whom it was that was a friend in the play anyway? Or the plastic hat from a Bar Mitzvah party of that kid, you know, the one, your kids best friend in the 6th grade...uhm, yeah, his party...still need that hat?

happy packing! last time, we marked boxes w numbers and had a master list so we could find things as needed before unpacking everything...as long as we could find the box, we were golden.

will you be painting that dumpster to match the house/garage trim?
