Seems that everyone is gathering wood these days.
So as not to be left out in the cold, we'll join in the fun too.
Tho... we seriously don't have nearly as much as these gals.
A couple years ago I built us a little wood shed with tarp curtains on the front for easy access. I have a wheeled wood cart that I can roll right up to it, load up and then roll it up onto our covered porch.
It's all stuffed and ready to go.
Then we have a little wood rack next to that - this is wood that we limb off trees in the yard. Its very satisfying to burn wood that you have cut and seasoned, even on a small scale.
Oh...well then there's this pile. This wood will need to season a bit.
Of course then we have this taller pile, which is tarped as its burnable now.
Hmm, right - then we'll need to find a spot to stack this as well...
Bring it.

Jeepers! I thought I was wood crazy. I've been looking for the best price on the best wood the last couple of days. Can't wait to have a nice fire.
Thats nice you can burn wood. How much do you go through in a winter?
Maple?
wood is getting pricey here. I have heard they are getting 250 a cord now.
we burned just under a cord last year. we are hoping to burn more this year (less oil - more wood)
some maple, some oak.
Ya know -- the firepit this year really opened our eyes to the wood world.
No wonder all of the free firewood ads online have all come to a halt.
And here we are, fresh out of wood. So sad. LOL
Did you split all that yourself? Where are your AxeWoman pictures???
Sara would be jealous...she loves to split wood.
You two must have some major arm muscles going on from stacking all that!
Crikey!!
I wood be so happy to have so much wood! A place to burn it wood be nice too, my co-op frowns on lighting stuff on fire (pussies!).
um... does nyone else think that the mothership is trying to contact them through the word verification? No? Good, me either.
Holy crap... that made me tired to just look at, as I imagined how long it took to stack it all.
So when we invite you over for some UCONN games, you'll bring some wood for our fireplace, k?!!
:-D
Oh yeah. Now you're almost ready for the cold. :)
That should keep you warm for a bit I imagine. You look prepared for a long winter.
