tip-o-day

Even if you don't have pets or kids you'll want to take a walk around with damp cloth and check out your doors and door moldings. You may be surprised at what you find.
Here, the FREE dog likes to nose her way into rooms where the doors are not quite shut --so we find all sorts of slobbers and smears on things at her height.

I also recommend a very good trim paint. Since trim needs to be wiped down so often a high quality paint is a must. We love Benjamin Moore's Impervo. It's a bit pricey - but it's beautiful white luster, self leveling application, and easy washability make it well worth it.
Keeping all the trim in the house this luxurious white also makes it easy to do touch ups as needed.

I once moved into a house that was abandoned by the previous renter that had two St Bernard dogs. I had to scrape dog slobber off the sills with a putty knife. It took three weeks to clean the house before i could move in.

We don't have the dog nosing around, other than the slider, we have the cats rubbing their faces up against doors and walls, leaving gunk behind.

Our trim is stained not painted, but you are so right about the Benjamin Moore. We cheated on ole Ben once, and it was a huge mistake. We had to repaint.

I agree with you on the trim paint. Once, I bought Glidden and it literally peeled off when I was wiping it down.

I wonder if Guy wants a puppy for his birthday?
