Am I really a lesbian?

While its true that I have a tool belt, a basement full of power tools, a ride on mower, even the short hair cut - there is one thing that keeps me from truly crossing that cliche line.

I don't own a Subaru.
My petite wife drives a Wrangler- which I think is a good substitute on the cliche scale. Plus she looks really hot in it sporting a tank shirt with the top down.

Last night on TV I saw a Subaru commercial. It seems they have built a new plant in Indiana which creates zero landfill waste.
Zero.
Wow.
And the site is a protected wildlife habitat.
Not to mention they have those gay commercials on Logo.
What's not to like?

Bravo to my pal Zoe who just picked one up!

Of course, I started shopping online immediately.
Hmm, they don't make a convertible...
Don't lesbians like convertibles?

That Subaru plant is in my town. They make all models of Subaru there except the Forester and the Impreza. The Forester is assembled in Vancouver BTW. Next year they are also going to start building, and don't quote me on this because I may have the wrong model of car, but I believe it's Toyota Camry.

While I am not employed by Subaru I know people who are, and those jobs are coveted. They are fantastic to their employies and they are great for our city. And of course you listed all the other reasons we bought a Subaru; they rate well with the HRC, they market to lesbians specifically, and their plants are enviornmentally friendly. The cars are also all wheel drive, get good gas milage, and rate well in crash testing.

True, they don't make a convertable, but the moon roof in our Forester is huge, it opens most of the way into the back seat. While it's not the same as a convertable, it does allow for a lot of sun shine and fresh air while giving you a 5 star crash rating.

We LOVE our new car. I'd highly recommend a Subaru to anyone.

Hang on, I'm still stuck on "...sporting a tank shirt with the top down"...

What ever, this is a bunch of hog wash. I'm not saying that this plant doesn't do an excellent job of recycling.... however you can not run a plant with nothing for the land fill. All plants use batteries, flourecent lighting, asbestos (which can be buried with out harm, but not incinerated. It came from the ground in the first place.) not to mention lead (which could be recycled, but no where near cost effiecient) or mercury out of mercury switches or relays. I also work for an enviromentaly respectful company that has recieved many awards as an electrician/mechanic and we try hard but bottom line is you can not produce "0" landfill waste. Say it like it is don't lie.

read the article big lebow....
NO landfill - they recycle, reuse or repurpose...so yes they use batteries and flourescents, but they don't send them to the landfill when they are done.

sorry weese, sorry syd. I'm claiming the top down comment as my own, along with the visual it inspires.

The Baja does not come with available T-tops. But I sure do love driving mine. Huge sunroof.

Big enough bed to carry what I want it too, yet too small to help someone move.

It's perfect.

I don't even know the kind of truck I drive. It is sort of champagne colored. It is a truck.

I am terrified of power tools.

I do like tank tops with the top down, though.

Bad lesbian! Bad lesbian.

I can't believe you went there with the Subaru thing (and here I reluctantly admit we own one already and are toying with buying another). It caught me off guard because I wasn't aware that there was a particular brand name association, I thought the cliche just referred to owning an SUV. (It used to, didn't it?)
Finally, I have to say this: I believe that if, in fact, lesbians are prone to driving Subarus, then only one explanation makes sense - we are simply the smartest shoppers around. Subaru has won countless customer satisfaction awards, and was the safest in its class for years.
It takes a lot of research to be this much of a dyke. =)
